Makapili is back!

Great News: Thomas Macomson is back to business! One of my best ukuleles is the Makapili soprano — built by Thomas Macomson. In the meantime he had to stop building ukuleles. But now the time of waiting is over, he’s back to business and building ukuleles again! If you want such a fantastic ukulele, NOW…

Tourdion

The wellknown drinking song by Pierre Attaignant: Tourdion! A renaissance earworm!

Te Deum (Charpentier)

Te Deum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, played on a Kiwaya KS-0. I tuned it to ADF#B, and used a capo at the 2nd fret, to achieve a higher pitch. This sounds better for this piece, I think.

Das klinget so herrlich

The famous tune from The Magic Flute, where papageno sounds his magic bells to escape Monostratos and his slaves. It was a bit of a challenge to find the right key to make it sound good on the ukulele. I’m playing here an Ukumele mahogany soprano ukulele with ADF#B tuning. It wouldn’t sound so nice…

Fernando Sor: Opus 60, No.1

I thought: This sounds much better with the ukulele as with the guitar — I’ve gotta do something! UPDATE: Tabs are now available here. The tabs didn’t work out well with Powertab. Perhaps I’ll consider this piece when I make another tab booklet with Lilypond.

BWV 515a

“Sooft ich meine Tobackspfeife” (No, I don’t smoke.)

Grazioso — Arrangement by Liath Glas

I just found this nice and easy to play arrangement by Liath Glas. You can find a link to the tabs in the video description on Youtube.

Chant de la Creuse

Just another little recording…

Gnossienne 1

I tried to play the famous Gnossienne 1 from Erik Satie: Tabs are available here. (13 frets required.)

The Cutty Wren
